Top Prospects

With the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs completed, the first 28 picks of the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft have been set. Elite Prospects Director of Film Scouting Cam Robinson has released his latest mock draft, providing an early glimpse at the top prospects expected to be available.

Connor Bedard, C (Regina Pats, WHL)

Bedard is the consensus top prospect for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 17-year-old center has dominated at every level he has played, leading the WHL in scoring in 2022-23 with 114 points in 68 games. Bedard represented Canada at the 2023 World Junior Championship, where he helped his country win gold and was named the tournament's MVP.

Matvei Michkov, LW (SKA St. Petersburg, KHL)

Michkov is another highly skilled forward from Russia, who was expected to be selected first overall in the 2023 NHL Draft before opting to return to his native country. The 18-year-old left-winger has been dominant in the KHL, scoring 32 goals in 47 games in 2022-23.

Adam Fantilli, C (Chicago Steel, USHL)

Fantilli is a highly touted American center who is considered to be one of the best prospects in the 2024 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old led the USHL in scoring in 2022-23 with 81 points in 52 games. Fantilli also represented the United States at the 2023 World Junior Championship, where he was named the tournament's best forward.
